Das kann man perfekte Planung nennen: die Fulvia-Leute aus ganz Europa wollten (wieder einmal) nach Österreich kommen und die österreichischen Veranstalter boten ihnen angemessen die europaweite Kulturveranstaltung „European Capital of Culture 2024“ an.
Kultur, Geschichte, die österreichische Bergwelt, Gastlichkeit und schöne Straßen (vor der Urlaubswelle) gaben die Kulisse für das 24. Meeting der lockeren Fulvia-Gemeinschaft. Lancianews hat bereits mehrmals von den Treffen dieser Gruppe berichtet, ich wiederhole daher nicht die Liste der attraktiven Destinationen, welche einmal jährlich von den Fulvia-Eigentümern angesteuert wurden.
Fahrzeuge aus Irland, England, Belgien, den Niederlanden, Deutschland, Italien und Österreich trafen am Donnerstag nachmittags in Bad Ischl ein – bei Sonnenschein! Das sollte ausdrücklich erwähnt werden, denn das Salzkammergut zeigt sich gerne feucht. 21 Fahrzeuge wurden hinter dem Hotel „Hubertushof“ – Home » Boutiquehotel Hubertushof – liebevoll geschlichtet, denn Parkplätze sind in Bad Ischl eher rar. Fulvias aller Baujahre (Berlinas, Coupés, Sport + Flaminia GTL, Beta Berlinas, Flavia 2000 und FIAT 124) sollten nach Absolvierung des Kulturprogrammes in die oberösterreichischen/Salzburger und steirischen Berge ausgeführt werden.
Erster Tag Kultur: die Kaiservilla – Sommerresidenz des vorletzten österreichischen Kaisers im herrlichen Park, die Villa des Komponisten Franz Lehár, die weltberühmte Konditorei „Zauner“ an der Esplanade – Grand Café Esplanade | Cafe Konditorei Zauner Bad Ischl – und die Kureinrichtungen des 19. Jahrhunderts.
Zweiter Tag: Fahrt über Bad Goisern, Gosau zur Postalm, wo es Kaffee und Krapfen zur Stärkung gab. Mittagspause war im „Weißen Rössl“ am Wolfgangsee direkt am Seeufer, danach eine Führung durch Kirche und Ort.
Dritter Tag: Kurze Fahrt nach Altaussee, wo alle mit dem elektrischen Ausflugsschiff durch den leisen Regen an den teilweise nebeligen Ufern der hohen Berge („Loser“) die Mystik des dunklen Gebirgssees erleben konnten. Die Mutigen bestiegen dann eine „Plätte“ und fuhren zum Abschiedsessen im „Strandcafe Altaussee“ – Strandcafe Restaurant | Altaussee | Feiern am See | hideaways
Fulvias und Insassen wurden nicht über die Gebühr beansprucht, die Gruppe löste sich Sonntag nachmittags Richtung Heimat auf. Mit der erfreulichen Aussicht, dass das nächste Meeting 2025 wieder in der Kulturhauptstadt stattfinden wird: Gorizia im Friaul im Juni 2025. Wir freuen uns schon heute!

Now the hard job for me, but: most of the Fulvia-friends speak English, so I can try to translate my report into ugly English which is a much(?) better than my Italian.
It was a great pleasure for the Austrian organizers Gerald and Thomas to welcome our guests on the perfect stage for the Central Europe Fulvia-meeting. The Austrian region round Bad Ischl is in 2024 the European Capital of Culture.
Culture, history, the Austrian mountains and beautiful roads were the stage for the 24th meeting of the Fulvia-friends from nearly all over Europe. Fulvias from Ireland, England, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and Austria met on Thursday in Bad Ischl in Upper Austria – with sunshine! 21 cars were hidden behind the hotel – Home » Boutiquehotel Hubertushof. Berlinas, Coupés, Spor + Flaminia GTL, Beta Berlinas and Flavia 2000.
First day: culture – the villa of the emperor Franz Joseph from the 19th century, the villa of the Austrian composer Franz Lehár, downtown Bad Ischl with lunch at the famous restaurant “Zauner” – Grand Café Esplanade | Cafe Konditorei Zauner Bad Ischl.
Second day: Drive to the mountains – again with sunshine! From Bad Ischl to the “Postalm” where the tired people got coffee and cake. Downhill to the “Wolfgangsee” for lunch in the famous restaurant “Weißes Rössl” directly on the shore. Guided tour through St. Wolfgang and back home to Bad Ischl.

Third day: Short way to Altaussee where we made a tour with a ship round the beautiful dark and misty lake. The brave participants entered then a “Plätte” (small wooden boat) to cross the lake to the final lunch in the restaurant „Strandcafe Altaussee“ – Strandcafe Restaurant | Altaussee | Feiern am See | hideaways .
It was not too much for Fulvias und drivers, early in the afternoon the guesst from western Europe left the European Capital of Culture for their long way home. But with hope for 2025 where the Fulvia-meeting will be held in the next European Capital of Culture: in Italy and Slovenia in Gorizia. We are looking forward.
