Die englische Zeitschrift Thoroughbred & Classic Cars bringt in unregelmäßigen Abständen Berichte über Lancia-Fahrzeuge, meist aus ungewöhnlichen Blickwinkeln: Vergleich Fulvia Coupé 1. und letzte Serie (August 1995: „Both of these cars are true Lancias, though – it’s just that the first series is more so“) und Vergleich Fulvia 1600 HF Lusso mit Beta Coupé 2000E (Februar 2001: „For all ist compactnes, the Fulvia is an eclectic mix of technologies“ / „Interaction with the Beta is about satisfaction not confrontation“).

Diesmal werden Fahrzeuge beschrieben, die bei Rennen und Rallyes die etablierten großen Namen erfolgreich bedrängten. Der Autor des Berichtes, Simon Charlesworth,  näherte sich der 1,6 HF von Colin Marr von Omicron mit Vorurteilen (Frontantrieb?), doch schließlich schrieb er beeindruckt „Through the bends, the Fanalone’s composure is nearly up there with the best of today’s hatches – great grip, body control and plenty of neck-straining agility … – It’s fast, nimble, huge and immensely charismatic – and to my perpetual shame, I wasn’t expecting an of this“.

Anmerkung: Das hätten wir ihm gleich sagen können!
